Apple has introduced watchOS 11, enhancing the Apple Watch with significant new features aimed at improving health, fitness, and user convenience.
With watchOS 11, Apple is dropping support for the Apple Watch Series 4 and Apple Watch Series 5, with the update requiring users to have an iPhone Xs or later running iOS 18 to install watchOS 11 on their Apple Watch SE (2nd generation), Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch Series 7, Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra or Apple Watch Ultra 2.
With watchOS 11, the new Vitals app offers comprehensive insights into health metrics, including advanced sleep data analysis, and provides additional support for pregnant users by tracking physical and mental health changes. The Training Load feature allows users to monitor the impact of workout intensity over time, promoting better training decisions. Activity rings have become more flexible, with customizable goals and the ability to pause rings without disrupting streaks.
Personalization has been elevated through the Smart Stack, which now delivers more intelligent suggestions, and the Photos face, which uses machine learning for optimal photo recommendations. Additionally, connectivity and convenience are boosted with features like Check In and the Translate app now available on the watch.
