Apple is not expected to update the Mac Studio and Mac Pro with next-generation high-end chips until mid-2025, according to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg.
In the latest “Power On” newsletter, Gurman reports that Apple’s current plans do not include launching new Mac Studio and Mac Pro models until mid-next year. The last update for these models, featuring M2-series chips, occurred at WWDC23, implying a possible two-year gap between updates, even though the iPad Pro now has the M4 chip.
By the end of 2024, all other Macs, except the MacBook Air, are expected to be available with M4-series chips. However, Gurman does not foresee any new Mac models being introduced at WWDC in June, making 2022 and 2023 outliers for recent mid-year Mac releases.
