Apple announces redesigned 11″ iPad Air and all-new 13″ model with M2 processor, landscape camera, new colors, more
Apple has announced a redesigned 11-inch iPad Air and all-new 13-inch model, both powered by the M2 chip. This marks the first time the iPad Air is available in two sizes. The M2 chip brings significant performance enhancements over the previous-generation, with faster CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine.
The redesigned iPad Air models feature a sleek design and come in new blue and purple finishes alongside starlight and space gray options. The 11-inch model remains portable, while the 13-inch version offers more screen real estate for multitasking experiences. Both models boast a Liquid Retina display, enhanced by True Tone technology and P3 wide color support, ensuring vibrant visuals in any lighting condition.
One notable update is the relocation of the front-facing Ultra Wide 12MP camera to the landscape edge, like the iPad mini. The M2 chip not only delivers blazing-fast performance but also enhances AI capabilities, enabling advanced features like Visual Look Up and Subject Lift. Moreover, Apple touts that faster Wi-Fi connectivity and optional 5G support ensure seamless online experiences wherever users go.
Apple has also unveiled new accessories, including the Apple Pencil Pro with features like squeeze controls and haptic feedback, along with updates to the Magic Keyboard.
Pricing for the new iPad Air models starts at $599 for the 11-inch version and $799 for the 13-inch model, with various configurations available. The two devices are available to order from today in the Apple Store app in 29 countries and regions.
