@AppleSupport account on X (Twitter) stops providing customer assistance
Apple has stopped providing customer assistance through its @AppleSupport account on X, formally Twitter, as the iPhone maker drops the platform in favor of directing customers to the general support page on Apple’s website to seek assistance through the other Apple support channels.
It was reported in September that Apple would be closing its support account on X, with an insight at the time claiming that the company will eliminate social media support advisor roles across Twitter, YouTube, and the Apple Support Community website as part of a shakeup to how it offers support to customers.
As spotted by MacRumors on Monday, customers who send a direct message to the @AppleSupport account on X are now receiving automated replies with links to the Get Support page on Apple’s website, and to the Apple Support app for iPhone and iPad.
Posting to the @AppleSupport account now sees Apple reply with an automated post, similarly linking to the Get Support page on Apple’s website.
