X (Twitter) to rename ‘tweets’ to ‘posts’

As part of X’s dramatic rebrand of Twitter, which has seen the platform remove the blue bird icon that’s long been its signature, the term “tweets” for status updates will be replaced with “posts,” according to the latest beta of the X app for Android.
The update, version 10.1.0, sees the former “tweets” tab on a user’s profile renamed to “posts,” and the former “tweet” composer named to “post.”
X is quickly removing all traces for the former Twitter brand from its platform, with the company renaming TweetDeck to “XPro” on Wednesday.
The term “Tweets” remains visible online and within the X app for iOS.
Elon Musk turbulently took over the former Twitter brand in October 2022 and has since made many high-profile, and often controversial, changes to the service including loosened content moderation, a push to pay-wall some once-popular features and capabilities, changes to the verification system, and a full renaming of the platform to X, which Musk intends to become an “everything app” like WeChat, a Chinese platform for messaging, voice and video calls, social media posts, mini-programs, payment services, and more.
