Amid rumors of Facebook developing a new Twitter rival, Elon Musk has challenged Mark Zuckerberg to a “cage match,” to which Zuckerberg has publicly responded saying “Send Me Location,” with Musk replying “If this is for real, I will do it.”
The feud started on Wednesday when Twitter CEO Elon Musk responded to a tweet about Facebook’s rumored new Twitter rival app Threads, in which a user jokingly said to Musk he“better be careful” because Zuckerberg does Jujutsu, a Japanese martial art for close combat.
In response, Musk said “I’m up for a cage match if he is,” to which Zuckerberg took a screenshot of the tweet and uploaded it to Instagram, where he applied an overlay saying “Send Me Location.”
Musk then responded to the Instagram post on Twitter, saying “If this is for real, I will do it.”
In maybe the greatest “let them fight” of all time, Elon Musk tweeted that he’s up for a cage match with Mark Zuckerburg, and now Zuck has posted on IG saying “send me location” pic.twitter.com/p61hPnaa8G

Despite it being highly unlikely the pair will actually go up against each other, on Wednesday evening, The Verge’s deputy editor, Alex Heath, said he “confirmed that Zuckerberg’s post on his Instagram account is, in fact, not a joke, with a Meta spokesperson telling the outlet that “the story speaks for itself.”
It is understood that Facebook is creating a Twitter rival named Theads which will be a new, decentralised social network. It has been rumored that Facebook is in discussions with high-profile Twitter users to invite them to build a following on Theads as soon as the service goes live.
