iPhone 15 Pro Max rumored to cost $200 more than iPhone 14 Pro Max
A report from Asia is claiming that Apple could increase the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max by around $200 compared to the price of the current-generation iPhone 14 Pro Max, marking the first price increase to the Pro-series iPhone lineup in several years.
According to the Economic Daily News, the highest spec 1TB iPhone 15 Pro Max may be sold for as much as $1,800 this year, which would be the most expensive iPhone ever sold by Apple, with the report citing increased component costs as the driving force behind the increased prices.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is rumored to feature a next-generation A17 Bionic chip, up from the A16 Bionic found in last year’s iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, and a new periscope camera lens, which will be exclusive to the 6.7-inch Pro Max model.
The report says the market expects that due to the large upgrade of specifications, the new iPhone 15 series is expected to see price increases from $100 to $200.
Apple currently sells the iPhone 14 for $799, and the larger iPhone 15 Plus for $100 more at $899. The iPhone 14 Pro starts at $999, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max costs $1,099.
It is unknown whether Apple will absorb some of price increases imposed upon it by suppliers, thus reducing the overall price increase, or if the full cost will be passed on to the customer.
