Apple sued by victims involved in Massachusetts Apple Store collision

Apple is one of two companies being sued by the victims involved in catastrophic recent indecent in Massachusetts, which killed one and seriously injured almost twenty others after an SUV driver ploughed through the glass facade of an Apple Store after his foot allegedly got stuck of the accelerator.

Lawyers are now representing “several victims” involved in the collision, who claim that the indecent was “100% preventable” and that Apple and the shopping center developers failed to prevent such an incident by not installing barriers or bollards between the parking lot traffic and the store’s glass frontage.

It is understood that amongst the victims, two store employees have also sued over the crash.

Emergency services were called to the Apple Store earlier this month after an SUV sped through the front of the Apple Store, with images at the time showing the vehicle deep inside the store as local news sources reported that at least one person was trapped under the car.

Apple confirmed in a statement that one victim, who has separately been named as Kevin Bradley, 65, of New Jersey, tragically lost their life in the incident who was a contractor at the Apple Store“supporting recent construction” at the location.

In a statement via Boston 25 News, Dr. Jason Tracy, Chief of Emergency Medicine at South Shore Hospital, said 17 people in total arrived at the ER suffering from “all types of traumatic injuries,” including head wounds, lower extremity issues, and “mangled” limbs.

As reported by the local news outlet, some victims have had to be taken in for surgery and others will eventually need to be operated on. A number of those patients sustained life-threatening injuries, according to Dr. Chris Burns, the hospital’s trauma chief.

The driver behind the wheel claimed that he was searching for an eyeglass store when his foot got stuck on the accelerator, causing his car jump the curb and collide with the store, court documents show.

As reported by Boston 25 News, Bradley Rein, 53, was driving a black 2019 Toyota 4Runner on the day of the collision, with Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz saying that Rein is facing charges of reckless homicide by a motor vehicle and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
