Updated concepts show redesigned M2 MacBook Air with notch, MagSafe charging, white bezels, and more

Leaker Jon Prosser has shared updated concepts created for FrontPageTech by RendersByIan that show what Apple’s redesigned M2 MacBook Air could look like, showing the machine with a MacBook Pro-style notch, MagSafe charging, white bezels, and more.

Jon Prosser first shared his 2022 MacBook Air concepts six months ago which allegedly were based on information from a source with a proven track record who claimed Apple will bring “colors for average consumers” with colorful MacBook models, which will feature iMac-style white bezels, a new non-wedge design, white keyboard, and more.

At the time, Prosser claimed to have seen a blue MacBook prototype, which the original set of concepts were based on.

Now, with Apple’s redesigned MacBook Pro officially announced, FrontPageTech and RendersByIan have released updated concepts based on recent reports, which offer more information about the rumored new machine.

Reputable leaker Dylandkt shared what he expects will come with next year’s MacBook Air update on Thursday, suggesting the new machine will feature white bezels and new colors like the 24-inch iMac, MagSafe charging, a 1080p webcam, and more.

Expected to release in the middle of 2022, Dylandkt reports that the next MacBook Air will be similar to the new MacBook Pro while being thinner and lighter. The machine is expected to have an off-white keyboard, USB C ports, a 30W power adapter, and have support for at least two external displays.

Apple is said to be considering renaming its next MacBook Air to “MacBook,” killing off the Air branding and bringing back the simple MacBook product title for next year’s highly-anticipated redesign, putting an end to the MacBook Air branding Apple has used since 2008.
