Rumored 2021 iPad mini to feature mini-LED display, DigiTimes reports

Apple is expected to show the iPad mini some love this year with an all-new iPad Air-style redesign, which is expected to see the device get a new all-screen display, a thinner and more flat-looking body, and a USB‑C charge port.

According to a new report from DigiTimes, the device may also feature a mini-LED display, similar to that expected to launch with this year’s new MacBook Pro, and next year’s updated MacBook Air.

Rumors point to the new iPad mini featuring an A15 chip, which will use the same 5-nanometer fabrication process as the A14 and is also expected to be used on the upcoming 2021 iPhone line, a magnetic Smart Connector for accessories such as the Magic Keyboard, and 5G support.

Separate reports have claimed the new iPad mini may feature a larger 8.4-inch display, up from the 7.9-inch display on the current-generation model.

Leaker Sonny Dickson shared alleged iPad mini dummy models in April, which may have offered our first look at the new design.
