Spam notifications sent to users in suspected Formula 1 racing app hack

The official Formula 1 racing app appears to have been hacked, with users taking to Twitter to report receiving spam notifications ahead of Sunday’s Austrian Grand Prix.
Two spam notifications were sent out to iOS and Android users of the F1 app on Saturday, the first reading ‘foo’ and the second gloating ‘Hmmm, I should check my security..’ minutes later.
Jason Duaine Hahn shared a screenshot of the spam messages, with The Sun reporting that it understands the notifications came from “someone playing a practical joke” and that there isn’t any security breach that users should be concerned about, although it is understood that some users have been signed out of their Formula 1 account after the hack.
