Apple again rumored to be working on redesigned Apple TV remote
Apple is again rumored to be working on a redesigned Apple TV remote, referred to internally as “B519.”
According to 9to5Mac, citing people familiar with the plans, the new remote will be a “more significant” upgrade than its last update in 2017, when Apple introduced the Apple TV 4K in 2017 and added a white ring around the Menu button on the Siri Remote.
Last week, code discovered by AppleInsider in the latest tvOS 14.5 beta renamed the remote from “Siri Remote” to “Apple TV Remote,” adding fuel to the rumors that an updated Apple TV is in development.
It has been rumored that Apple’s next-generation Apple TV remote may work with the Find My app on iPhone, iPad and Mac to allow users to easily locate their remote in the event that it is misplaced around the house.
