Apple TV+ show ‘Ted Lasso’ wins Best Comedy Series at Writers Guild of America Awards

Apple TV+ Original “Ted Lasso” has won Best New Series and Best Comedy Series at the 2021 Writers Guild of America Awards.
“Ted Lasso” has proven to be a hit with critics, with the series earning several awards and nominations since it began airing last August, most recently winning a Critics Choice Award for Best Comedy Series, as well as having nominations at the Golden Globe Awards.
“Ted Lasso” stars Jason Sudeikis as the show’s main character, playing the role of a small-time college football coach from Kansas hired to train a professional soccer team in England, despite having no experience coaching soccer.
Filming of series 2 is underway, with the full first series available to stream now through the Apple TV app.
