Apple testing enhanced Maps app in the UK and Ireland
Apple is testing its enhanced Maps app in the UK and Ireland, according to Justin O’Beirne (via MacRumors).
The expansion of the more detailed Maps experience follows after Apple completed the rollout of its redesigned Maps app in the United States earlier this year, offering better road coverage and pedestrian data, more precise addresses, and detailed land cover.
Justin, who regularly notes updates to Apple Maps, suggests the public launch of the enhanced Maps service may be available to customers between mid-September and early October after Apple confirmed that the UK would be next to receive the updated service in July.
The all-new Maps interface features richer landscape details such as roads, parking lots, parks, buildings, airports, and more. The updated Maps experience is only available for a small number of users at this time.
