Apple announces new MacBook Air with scissor switch keyboard, priced from $999

Apple has added an updated MacBook Air to its line-up, featuring a scissor switch keyboard design, faster processors and graphics, Intel’s latest 10th-generation Core processors, and more.

Introduced within an update to Apple.com today, the new addition offers two times faster CPU performance and up to 80 percent faster graphics performance compared to the previous MacBook Air, now offering support for a 6K display over one of the two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the machine.

The machine is priced from $999 for 256GB of storage in the United States, compared to $1,099 with 128GB of storage for the 2019 base model.

Apple’s new MacBook Air is available to order from Apple.com and the Apple Store app today.

In addition to the updated MacBook Air, Apple has also released a new version of its Mac mini. The machine is seeing its storage doubled for the standard configurations. Now, the entry-level Mac mini is priced from $799 for 256GB of SSD storage.

Apple has also unveiled a new iPad Pro, featuring a new Apple-designed A12Z processor, a rear camera array with LiDAR, an optional new Magic Keyboard with built-in trackpad, and more.
