Apple to add new Giraffe, Shark, Owl and Warthog Animoji with iOS 12.2
iOS 12.2 beta 2 is now available to developers, adding four new Animoji characters, a giraffe, a shark, an owl, and a warthog, which iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR users and owners of the Face ID-equipped 2018 iPad Pro will be able to use once iOS 12.2 is released to the public.
Just like Apple’s other Animoji, each new animal come with its own characteristics that change based on your facial expressions. For instance, an eyebrow raise will cause the giraffe’s brow and ears to perk up, and while smiling and showing teeth the shark Animoji will grin with its pearly white gnashers.
Apple now has 24 Animoji in total, including a monkey, a robot, a cat, a dog, an alien, a fox, poop, a pig, a panda, a bunny, a rooster, a unicorn, a lion, a dragon, a skull, a bear, a tiger, a koala, a t-rex, and a ghost. – With the release of iOS 12.2, Apple will have double the number of Animoji that were available when the cool little feature was released alongside the iPhone X in 2017.
Alongside the addition of new Animoji, iOS 12.2 will bring the Apple News service to customers in Canada as well as making a handful of minor UI tweaks across the operating system.
