Apple’s November product launches do not end with the five Macs and iPads arriving on November 6.
Exactly one week later, on Friday, November 13, Apple will launch two more products: the $299 HomeView smart home hub and the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K.
The second launch day shifts Apple’s focus away from Mac and iPad and firmly into the living room and smart home.
HomeView is Apple’s new shared smart home display, combining a 7-inch Liquid Retina screen with Siri AI, FaceTime, Apple Home controls, entertainment, and personalized experiences for different members of a household.
The tabletop HomeView and wall-mounted version both start at $299 in the United States, while the standard model costs £299 in the United Kingdom. The Apple Post has a full guide to everything HomeView can do.
HomeView is also central to Apple’s wider smart home push. It can show compatible camera feeds, control lights, locks, thermostats, and other accessories, and work with the new Apple Home Collection arriving from December. Our launch coverage looks at how HomeView fits into Apple’s new home strategy.
The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K also goes on sale November 13, priced at $299 in the U.S. and £299 in the UK.
It introduces the A19 chip, three far-field microphones for hands-free Siri, Siri AI, a new Siri Remote with Precision Finding, and support for a four-speaker surround sound setup using compatible HomePod models. Here is everything you need to know about the new Apple TV 4K.
Both HomeView and Apple TV 4K have been available to pre-order since October 13, although some delivery estimates began slipping beyond launch day shortly after pre-orders opened.
Apple confirms both products officially become available on Friday, November 13. Apple’s HomeView announcement and Apple TV 4K announcement detail the launch timing.
