MacBook Neo 2 reportedly launching in first half of 2027

Apple is reportedly planning to release its second-generation MacBook Neo in the first half of 2027.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is targeting the first six months of next year for the MacBook Neo 2, after earlier reports had only pointed to a broader 2027 release.

The new timing adds more detail to previous reports about the second-generation MacBook Neo, which is expected to move from the current A18 Pro chip to A19 Pro, increase memory from 8GB to 12GB, and introduce new color options.

Apple launched the first MacBook Neo in March 2026 as a lower-cost Mac aimed at students, families, and first-time Mac buyers. The current model originally started at $599 in the United States before Apple increased the starting price to $699 in June.

Assuming Apple follows through with the reported first-half schedule, MacBook Neo 2 could arrive around a year after the original model.
