M6 MacBook Pro comes with 16GB memory as standard and up to 32GB

Apple’s new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 comes with 16GB of unified memory as standard and can be configured with up to 32GB.

The M6 chip also increases unified memory bandwidth to as much as 170GB/s, helping demanding apps, large projects and on-device AI workloads move data more quickly.

Apple says the additional bandwidth works alongside the 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU and Dual 16-core Neural Engine to improve multitasking, creative work and local AI performance.

For users upgrading from older Intel or M1 systems, 16GB as the starting memory configuration is one of several platform improvements alongside Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, faster storage and up to 24 hours of battery life.

Apple unveiled the new M6 MacBook Pro today, with prices starting at $1,999 in the United States.
