M6 MacBook Pro gets up to 24 hours of battery life, the longest ever in a Mac

Apple’s new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 delivers up to 24 hours of battery life, which Apple describes as the longest battery life ever offered in a Mac.

The company says the M6 chip’s performance-per-watt improvements allow the notebook to maintain the same performance whether it is plugged in or running on battery.

For users upgrading from an M1 MacBook Pro, Apple says the new model can provide up to four additional hours of battery life. Compared with older Intel-based MacBook Pro models, the gain can be as much as 14 hours.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro also supports fast charging, reaching up to 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes when used with a compatible higher-wattage USB-C power adapter such as Apple’s 96W adapter.

Apple unveiled the M6 14-inch MacBook Pro today, with preorders beginning October 28 and availability starting November 6.
