Apple releases iPadOS 27.2 with Siri popup, TV profiles, and new iPad features

Apple has released iPadOS 27.2 for iPad, adding a new Siri AI contextual popup, Apple TV profiles, redesigned Apple apps, and additional productivity improvements.

One of the most notable iPad-specific changes is a new Siri contextual popup that appears when users select text with a trackpad or mouse. The control provides quick access to Siri AI and writing tools such as proofreading and rewriting without leaving the current app.

The Apple TV app now supports individual profiles on iPad, allowing different users to maintain separate viewing queues, histories, recommendations, and age-appropriate content restrictions. Apple Music and Apple Books also receive the same visual changes introduced with iOS 27.2.

iPadOS 27.2 also includes Messages Suggested Actions, updates to Apple Podcasts, expanded Siri AI language support, and other refinements introduced during the beta cycle.

On Apple’s new iPad mini, the update also enables extended display mode when connected to an external display. The Apple Post previously reported on the feature, which lets users move and work with windowed apps across the iPad and an external screen rather than simply mirroring the display.

iPadOS 27.2 is available now through Settings > General > Software Update on compatible iPad models.
