Apple is reportedly preparing to launch a new iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip this week, expanding its latest generation of Apple silicon across more of the Mac lineup.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, both Macs are expected to be announced on Wednesday, October 28, alongside Apple’s larger “Pro and tell” product push.
The M6 is expected to be the main upgrade for both models. No major design changes have been reported, suggesting the new iMac and 14-inch MacBook Pro will be more straightforward performance updates than the redesigned OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro models also expected this week.
The standard 14-inch MacBook Pro is expected to keep its existing design while moving to M6, creating an unusual split in the lineup as Apple simultaneously introduces higher-end MacBook Pro models with OLED displays, touch input and M5 Pro or M5 Max chips.
The Apple Post previously reported on Apple’s expected M6 MacBook Pro and iMac launch, with both machines forming part of a wider Mac and iPad refresh on October 28.
