Yes — but Apple is warning that your chances may be slim.
Apple has now confirmed that Apple Stores will have only limited iPhone Duo stock available for walk-in customers when the device launches on Friday, October 23, meaning buyers without a preorder or pickup reservation may still be able to purchase one in person, but there is no guarantee.
An Apple spokesperson told MacRumors that stores will have limited quantities for walk-in customers and that Apple is working to get the new foldable iPhone into customers’ hands as quickly as possible.
For anyone hoping to buy iPhone Duo on launch day without a preorder, the safest approach is to check Apple’s website or Apple Store app for local pickup availability before traveling. If a nearby store shows a model available to reserve, securing it online is likely to be much safer than relying on walk-in inventory.
Customers who do decide to visit an Apple Store without a reservation should also be prepared to compromise on color or storage. iPhone Duo is sold in star white and night sky with 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities, and Apple has not said whether every configuration will be represented in each store’s limited walk-in allocation.
The situation is a significant update from earlier in the week. Apple had previously stopped short of confirming whether walk-in customers would be able to buy iPhone Duo at all on launch day, while The Apple Post warned that customers joining launch-day queues could still leave empty-handed.
Those warnings remain relevant. Apple says walk-in stock will be limited, and preorder demand has already pushed online delivery estimates into 2027.
iPhone Duo launches Friday, October 23, starting at $1,999 in the U.S. and £1,999 in the UK.
