iPhone Duo has two very different sizes depending on whether it is folded or opened, combining a compact outer display with a much larger screen on the inside.
When folded, iPhone Duo uses its 5.4-inch outer display like a conventional iPhone. Opening the device reveals a 7.6-inch inner display designed for larger apps, video, games and multitasking.
The foldable design also makes iPhone Duo particularly thin when opened. Apple describes it as the thinnest iPhone it has made when unfolded, despite the device effectively containing two halves joined by its hinge.
Is iPhone Duo closer to an iPhone or an iPad?
Closed, the experience is much closer to a compact iPhone. Opened, the 7.6-inch display moves into small-tablet territory and provides considerably more screen space than a conventional iPhone.
That changing size is one of the main reasons iPhone Duo is different from Apple’s Pro Max models. Instead of permanently carrying a larger phone, users can keep the device folded for everyday tasks and open it when additional display space is useful.
