iOS 27.2 gives Apple Music a new app icon and more design changes

Apple is continuing its visual refresh of Apple Music in iOS 27.2, with the latest beta introducing a redesigned app icon alongside several other changes throughout the Music app.
In iOS 27.2 beta 4, the familiar red and pink Apple Music icon has been replaced by a much simpler black-and-white design. In light mode, the icon uses a white background with a black music note, while dark mode reverses the colors.
The changes extend beyond the Home Screen. Apple has also switched the active Music tab bar color to blue, replacing the red and pink styling previously associated with the service.
Apple Music widgets now use simple black backgrounds, while sections within the Library such as Playlists, Albums, Artists and Songs have also moved toward a monochrome appearance.
The redesign follows Apple’s recent introduction of a new Apple Music wordmark. The Apple Post previously reported that Apple Music appeared to be getting new branding after the updated logo began appearing across Apple’s latest software betas.
Taken together, the changes point to a broader refresh of Apple Music. Apple has not formally announced a complete rebrand, and elements appearing in beta software can still change before release.
iOS 27.2 remains in developer testing, with a public release expected later in October.
