Apple is expanding the Home app with Adaptive Temperature, a new feature designed to automatically adjust heating and cooling throughout the day.
The feature works with new smart thermostats from LG Electronics and Schneider Electric that are part of Apple Home Collection.
According to Apple, on-device intelligence from iPhone can adjust the temperature based on whether someone is at home, winding down for the night or away, removing the need for a manual schedule.
The new thermostats can use readings from dedicated LG and Schneider temperature and humidity sensors, as well as sensors built into compatible HomeView and HomePod devices.
Both thermostat systems are Matter compatible and designed for DIY installation, with on-device wire detection intended to make setup easier across a broad range of HVAC systems.
In the contiguous U.S., Apple is also adding Clean Energy Guidance for customers with compatible utility plans, allowing heating and cooling to shift toward cleaner or lower-cost periods and displaying peak and off-peak energy information in the Home app.
LG’s Smart Thermostat and Schneider Home Smart Thermostat each start at $199.95 in the U.S., while their standalone sensors start at $39.95.
The products are part of the new Apple Home Collection, with availability beginning in December and select accessories following in early 2027.
