Apple shares new HomePod mini 2 video showcasing new colors and sound

Apple has released a new short video showcasing HomePod mini 2, following the second-generation smart speaker’s announcement today.

The 41-second video, titled “The new HomePod mini 2: Rich, room-filling sound in a compact design,” puts the focus on the refreshed speaker’s five colors and upgraded audio experience.

HomePod mini 2 is available in pink, green, blue, white and midnight, and is powered by Apple’s S10 chip for advanced computational audio. Apple says the new model delivers 360-degree sound and can be used on its own, as a stereo pair or as part of a multiroom setup.

HomePod mini 2 adds Siri AI and Sound Glow

The new speaker also supports Siri AI through a future software update and introduces Sound Glow, which makes the top surface pulse and change color in time with music.

When paired with the new Apple TV 4K, four HomePod mini 2 speakers can create a surround sound setup that automatically calibrates timing and levels based on speaker position. The Apple Post has also covered the S10 chip and new color lineup, which Apple has now officially confirmed.

The HomePod mini 2 video joins new films for Apple TV 4K and HomeView released as part of Apple’s “Welcome home” product launch.
