Will Apple announce a new Apple TV 4K on October 13?

A new Apple TV 4K is one of the products reportedly planned for Apple’s October 13 “Welcome home” event, potentially bringing the streaming box its first major hardware refresh in several years.
Apple has confirmed the event but not a new Apple TV. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has identified the device as part of a three-product lineup, alongside a refreshed HomePod mini and a new display-equipped smart home hub.
Apple TV is best known for streaming entertainment, but compatible models can also function as home hubs, allowing owners to manage smart home accessories and automations when away from home.
That role makes the timing significant. The “Welcome home” branding suggests Apple wants to present its devices as parts of a more connected household ecosystem rather than unrelated products.
Reports have pointed to faster processing hardware and closer integration with Siri AI, but Apple has not confirmed the processor, design, connectivity or price of a replacement. It is also unclear whether any new features would be exclusive to updated hardware.
Apple has announced a new generation of Siri designed to handle more conversational requests and use personal context, creating possibilities for improved voice control in the living room.
For existing Apple TV owners, the most important question will be whether a new model brings meaningful capabilities beyond speed. Better home integration or genuinely new Siri functionality could provide a stronger reason to upgrade.
Apple’s October 13 event should clarify whether the rumored Apple TV arrives alongside HomePad and HomePod mini, as well as when customers might be able to buy it.
