The countdown to Apple’s first foldable iPhone is entering its final stretch, with just 10 days remaining until iPhone Duo pre-orders officially begin.
Apple will open pre-orders on Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time and 8 a.m. Eastern Time in the United States. In the UK, orders will open at 1 p.m. BST.
The milestone comes one month after Apple unveiled iPhone Duo alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Unlike Apple’s other new iPhones, which reached customers in September, the company’s first foldable has a later October launch.
Apple confirmed following the unveiling that iPhone Duo will start at $1,999 in the United States and £1,999 in the UK. Storage options range from 256GB through to 2TB, with star white and night sky finishes available.
iPhone Duo combines a 5.4-inch outer Super Retina XDR display with a much larger 7.6-inch folding display on the inside. Both displays support ProMotion, Always On and up to 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness.
The device is powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chip and uses a dual-battery design, alongside a custom vapor chamber designed to manage heat within the unusually thin folding chassis.
Apple has also redesigned parts of the iOS experience around the larger folding display. iPhone Duo supports side-by-side apps and new camera and FaceTime experiences that make use of both the inner and outer screens.
iPhone Duo will ship with iOS 27.1 and support Apple Intelligence and Siri AI. Apple has also confirmed support for the USB-C Apple Pencil will arrive later this year.
The October launch means customers interested in Apple’s first foldable have had considerably longer than usual to decide whether to buy. By the time pre-orders open, more than five weeks will have passed since the device was first unveiled.
Apple will begin delivering the first iPhone Duo orders on Friday, October 23, exactly one week after pre-orders open. The device will also become available in Apple Stores and through participating carriers and retailers on the same day.
Apple’s iPhone Duo Case and iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand will be available to order alongside the phone.
With only 10 days remaining, customers planning to order on launch day are approaching the final opportunity to choose their preferred storage capacity and finish before pre-orders begin.
