Apple is now accepting App Store submissions for apps and games optimized for iPhone Duo, giving developers time to prepare ahead of the foldable iPhone reaching customers later this month.
Apple announced that developers can submit iPhone Duo-optimized apps through App Store Connect now, with the device set to become available to customers on October 23.
Developers can build or recompile their apps using Xcode 27.1, which adds development support for iPhone Duo. Apple says Device Hub can be used to preview how an app behaves across the device’s different poses and orientations.
Apps built or recompiled using Xcode 27.1 will also receive a badge on their App Store product page indicating that they have been optimized for iPhone Duo.
Apple has additionally updated its screenshot and app preview specifications for iPhone Duo, allowing developers to prepare App Store assets that show how their apps look on the new device.
Starting in April 2027, apps and games submitted through App Store Connect will be required to include screenshots for iPhone Duo, Apple says.
The company is also offering design guidance, templates and workshops to help developers adapt their apps to the foldable device. Apple’s iPhone Duo developer resources include guidance covering adaptive layouts, multiple displays and scenes, camera experiences and the device’s different orientations.
iPhone Duo will be available to pre-order on October 16 before deliveries and in-store availability begin on October 23.
