Apple announces new Creator Studio updates for Final Cut Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Keynote and more

Apple has announced a collection of new Apple Creator Studio updates, bringing new features to Final Cut Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform.

The updates range from new professional video editing capabilities for footage captured on iPhone 18 Pro to improved selection tools in Pixelmator Pro and new templates across Apple’s productivity apps.

Final Cut Pro and Motion on Mac can now apply Cinematic mode effects to video captured natively on iPhone 18 Pro, allowing editors to adjust focus points and depth of field directly from the Final Cut Pro timeline.

Compressor can convert footage with the new Cinematic mode effects back into Apple’s previous Cinematic mode format and adds HEVC and MPEG-4 export presets designed for sharing video on social platforms.

Pixelmator Pro is also gaining new features on Mac and iPad.

Apple has added two new collections of templates, including designs aimed at sports and action projects alongside templates for launching a creative idea, business, or product.

A new Podcasts category includes cover artwork templates already sized for major podcast platforms.

On iPad, Pixelmator Pro now gains the Select and Mask feature previously available on Mac, providing more precise controls for refining selections and masks around complex edges such as hair and fur.

Apple is also expanding the collection of professionally designed templates and themes available to Apple Creator Studio subscribers in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers.

Keynote’s intelligent slide generation can now automatically create images tailored to a presentation.

Keynote, Pages, and Numbers also add the ability to request access to a shared presentation, document, or spreadsheet directly from the app.

Pages for Mac gains Screen View, which optimizes documents for reading and focused writing, while Numbers adds new trigonometry, statistics, and logic functions.

Freeform receives several notable additions, including folders for organizing boards into collections and the ability for boards to automatically adapt when Dark Mode is enabled.

Writing Tools powered by Apple Intelligence can now rewrite, proofread, and summarize handwritten notes in Freeform.

Users can also request access to shared Freeform files and automate adding content to boards using Shortcuts.

Apple is expanding Freeform further on Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 27. Users can pull multiple objects from a board into their physical space, including images, videos, sticky notes, shapes, and 3D models.

Multiple Vision Pro users can also view 3D models together as a group.

The changes form part of Apple’s continuing expansion of Apple Creator Studio, which brings together its professional creative software and additional premium features across several Apple apps.
