iPhone 18e is expected to launch in spring 2027 as Apple’s most affordable entry into the iPhone 18 generation, potentially arriving alongside the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2.
The device has not been announced, and many detailed specifications currently circulating online are speculative. The broader spring release window, however, fits multiple reports about Apple’s new two-part iPhone launch strategy.

iPhone 18e release date
Reports consistently point to spring 2027. Apple has increasingly used the first part of the year for its lower-cost iPhone models, but 2027 could be different because iPhone 18e may be joined by two other new iPhones.
The Apple Post has previously covered Apple’s expected decision to split its iPhone launches, putting premium models in September and the mainstream range in spring.
6.1-inch display and Face ID
iPhone 18e is rumored to retain a 6.1-inch display. A Dynamic Island has also been suggested, which would continue moving Apple’s lower-cost model away from older iPhone designs.
Face ID is expected to remain the biometric authentication system. Claims about the exact display technology and panel specifications are less certain.
A20 chip
Apple’s A20 chip is expected to power iPhone 18e, giving the lower-cost model the same generation of processor as the standard iPhone 18, although Apple could differentiate the chips through GPU configuration or other changes.
Rumors of exactly 9GB of RAM have circulated, but the figure has not been established strongly enough to regard it as confirmed.
Camera
The 18e is expected to retain a single rear camera, with rumors pointing to a 48-megapixel Fusion sensor. Keeping one camera would remain one of the clearest ways for Apple to distinguish the lower-cost phone from iPhone 18.

Apple’s C2 modem has also been linked to iPhone 18e. Apple has steadily expanded the use of its own cellular silicon, making the e-series a logical place for the next generation, but Apple has not confirmed C2 for the device.
iPhone 18e price
Some online graphics suggest a U.S. price between $599 and $699. That is speculation rather than a reliable price leak, and Apple’s final pricing may not become clear until much closer to launch.
The bigger story may be the position iPhone 18e occupies. If Apple launches it alongside iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2, buyers could have three new spring iPhones spanning lower-cost, mainstream and ultra-thin designs rather than a single mid-cycle budget refresh.
