Apple customers in the United States can now submit claims as part of the company’s $250 million settlement over delayed Siri Apple Intelligence features, with the official settlement website now accepting applications.
The settlement covers eligible U.S. residents who bought an iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max or an iPhone 16-series model in the United States between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025. The devices must have been purchased for personal or business use rather than for resale.
The settlement is U.S. only. Customers outside the United States, including those in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Europe, are not covered by the class action and cannot claim simply because they own one of the eligible iPhone models.
The official claims website, SmartphoneAISettlement.com, is now live. Claims must be submitted by December 21, 2026.
The eligible models are iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Eligibility is tied to where and when the phone was purchased, not simply which model somebody currently owns.
Eligible customers are expected to receive an estimated $25 for each qualifying device, although the final payment can be higher or lower depending on the number of valid claims and other deductions from the settlement fund. Payments are capped at $95 per eligible device.
Customers should therefore not assume that submitting a claim guarantees a $95 payment. The $25 figure is an estimate, while $95 is the maximum permitted under the settlement.
The Apple Post reported in May that Apple had agreed to the $250 million settlement, which followed a U.S. class action accusing the company of false advertising and unfair competition over Siri features promoted as part of Apple Intelligence.
Apple previewed its more personalized Siri at WWDC 2024, demonstrating capabilities including understanding personal context, awareness of what was on an iPhone’s screen and the ability to perform more actions across apps. The technology was heavily promoted during the iPhone 16 launch cycle.
Several of the most significant capabilities did not arrive on the original schedule. Apple announced in March 2025 that the more personalized Siri features were taking longer than expected, after the company had already advertised them through its website, presentations and marketing including a campaign starring Bella Ramsey.
The subsequent lawsuit alleged that customers bought eligible iPhones expecting those Siri Apple Intelligence capabilities and did not receive them as advertised. Apple denies the allegations and denies doing anything improper or unlawful. The settlement avoids the costs and risks of continuing the litigation and does not amount to an admission of wrongdoing.
The timing of the claims opening is notable because Apple has now launched the Siri experience at the center of the dispute. Siri AI was announced at WWDC 2026 and is available on supported iPhones with iOS 27, although Apple continues to describe the experience as a beta.
As The Apple Post has reported, Siri AI also has important availability restrictions. The newest Siri capabilities require an Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone, and Siri AI is not available on iPhone or iPad in the European Union at launch.
Settlement notices are expected to be sent to eligible customers by email and can include a Claim ID and PIN. However, receiving an email is not required to begin a claim. The official website allows customers to start the process without a Claim ID or PIN.
The claim form asks for information identifying the eligible device. Customers who have the iPhone’s serial number can provide it, while the settlement process also provides an alternative route using information including the Apple Account email address and phone number associated with the device.
Claims can be submitted online until December 21. The settlement is still subject to the remaining court process, with a final approval hearing scheduled for February 24, 2027, meaning payments are not expected immediately after a claim is filed.
Anyone intending to claim should use the official Smartphone AI Settlement website rather than links sent by unknown third parties. The website is administered for the settlement and contains the claim form, eligibility information and court documents.
