Apple has confirmed that iOS 27 will be released on Monday, September 14, but the company has not announced an exact time for when the update will begin appearing on iPhones.
Based on Apple’s release pattern over the past several years, iOS 27 is most likely to become available at around 10 a.m. Pacific Time. That would put the expected release at 1 p.m. Eastern Time in the United States and 6 p.m. in the United Kingdom.
The timing is not guaranteed, but Apple has been remarkably consistent with major iOS launches. iOS 26 began rolling out shortly after 10 a.m. Pacific Time in 2025, while iOS 17 also arrived just after 10 a.m. Pacific Time in 2023. iOS 18 was similarly expected around the same 10 a.m. window based on Apple’s established release schedule. As reported by MacRumors, iOS 26 started appearing at around 10:06 a.m. Pacific Time last year.
Expected iOS 27 release time
If Apple follows the same pattern on Monday, iOS 27 should begin rolling out at approximately 10 a.m. PDT / 1 p.m. EDT / 6 p.m. BST. In much of continental Europe, that would mean around 7 p.m. CEST, while users in parts of Asia and Australia will see the update arrive during the early hours of Tuesday, September 15.
There can be a short delay before a major update appears on every device. Apple’s software releases are distributed globally, and the Software Update screen may not refresh at exactly the same moment for everyone. Anyone checking at the expected release time may therefore need to wait a few minutes before iOS 27 appears.
Once available, the update can be found by opening Settings, selecting General and then Software Update. Apple confirmed the September 14 release date for iOS 27 following its September event.
iOS 27 is one of Apple’s biggest iPhone updates of recent years, with Siri AI, expanded Apple Intelligence features, performance improvements and changes across apps including Photos, Safari, Maps, Health, Find My and Shortcuts. The Apple Post has already detailed 27 new features coming to iPhone with iOS 27 ahead of Monday’s launch.
Apple is also releasing iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27 and visionOS 27 on Monday. Those updates are expected to begin appearing around the same time, although availability can vary slightly between platforms.
