Apple halts some Mac mini and Mac Studio orders

Some Mac mini and Mac Studio configurations are now completely unavailable to order through Apple’s online store in the U.S.
As noted by 9to5Mac, Mac mini models configured with 32GB or 64GB of RAM, along with Mac Studio models configured with 128GB or 256GB of RAM, are listed as “currently unavailable” on Apple’s website and in the Apple Store app.
That means those configurations can no longer be ordered at all, at least for the time being.
Other Mac mini and Mac Studio models remain available, though many are facing long shipping delays, with estimated delivery times ranging from one to three months.
The delays have sparked speculation that Apple could be preparing to refresh the Mac mini and Mac Studio with M5 chips in the near future.
However, the more likely explanation is the ongoing global memory chip shortage, which has affected supply across a wide range of electronics products.
Apple is already expected to release updated Mac Studio models around the middle of 2026, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously reporting that refreshed versions are in development.
For now, customers looking to order a higher-end Mac mini or Mac Studio may face longer waits than usual, particularly for models with larger memory configurations.
