Apple says WWDC 2026 will spotlight major AI advancements

Apple has confirmed that WWDC 2026 will place a strong focus on artificial intelligence, with the company set to preview new AI-powered features across its software platforms during the week-long event starting June 8.
In announcing this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple said the event will showcase “incredible updates” across its platforms, including significant advancements in AI. The keynote is expected to offer the first look at iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, and more, with Apple’s next-generation AI capabilities likely to take center stage.
Reports suggest Apple is preparing a major evolution of its Apple Intelligence features, with a particular focus on Siri. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has previously reported that Apple is testing a more advanced version of Siri designed to function as a conversational AI assistant, bringing it closer to the kind of experience offered by modern chatbot-style tools.
The upgraded Siri is expected to be deeply integrated into Apple’s operating systems rather than offered as a standalone app. The goal is to make interactions more natural, allowing users to hold more fluid conversations and complete tasks more efficiently across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
While iOS 27 is rumored to be a more performance-focused release overall, the AI improvements could be the standout addition this year. Apple’s engineers are said to be focusing on cleaning up legacy code and improving system stability, while layering in more advanced intelligence features on top.
