Apple preparing to launch HomePod mini 2 in early 2026

Apple is reportedly close to releasing a second-generation HomePod mini, with the compact smart speaker expected to launch in early 2026, potentially ahead of spring.
According to earlier reporting from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the updated HomePod mini is set to receive support for Apple Intelligence and an upgraded version of Siri. The device is also expected to feature a faster processor, replacing the current S5 chip.
Additional improvements may include the introduction of a new ultra-wideband chip, enhanced audio performance and a redesigned Wi-Fi and Bluetooth component aimed at delivering more reliable connectivity.
Apple is also said to be experimenting with new colour options for the refreshed speaker. Among those reportedly tested is a bold red finish, which would expand on the current HomePod mini lineup available in blue, yellow, midnight, white and orange.
