Next-gen Apple Vision Pro could feature new space black version

Apple is rumored to be preparing a second-generation Apple Vision Pro in the near future, with the device expected to deliver minor upgrades over the original model, which launched in 2024.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the next Apple Vision Pro may swap out the M2 chip for an M4 — or possibly the upcoming M5 — to power more advanced spatial experiences.
But performance might not be the only change. Gurman reports that Apple has also considered releasing the headset in a new space black finish, adding a darker option alongside the current light design.
This approach echoes Apple’s strategy with the Apple Watch Ultra. The first Ultra launched in a light titanium color, while the Ultra 2 followed suit — and was later joined by a new black version to refresh the look.
Apple is hosting its highly anticipated September event this coming Tuesday, where the iPhone 17 series and new Apple Watch models are expected to debut. It remains unclear, however, whether the refreshed Apple Vision Pro will be unveiled at the same time, or if Apple will hold it back for a potential October event focused on iPad and Mac updates.
