All iPhone models sold in the US to be made in India by late 2026, report says

Apple plans to manufacture all iPhone models sold in the United States in India by next year, as part of a broader effort to diversify its supply chain and reduce reliance on China, according to a report from the Financial Times.
To meet this ambitious goal, Apple aims to produce more than 60 million iPhones annually in India—enough to satisfy demand in the US market. That would require nearly doubling its current iPhone output in the country, bringing total production to around 80 million units per year.
Apple began shifting some iPhone production to India several years ago, initially ramping up in response to tariffs introduced during the Trump administration. However, until now, India has largely played a secondary role to China in Apple’s manufacturing strategy. This new move signals a significant shift in the company’s global operations, positioning India as a central hub for iPhone production moving forward.
