Apple confirms iOS 18.2 with Image Playground, Genmoji, Writing Tools enhancements, ChatGPT integration, and more coming today

Apple has confirmed that iOS 18.2 will be released today, introducing several new features. These include expanded Apple Intelligence support, ChatGPT integration with Siri, customizable Genmoji creation, and the new Image Playground app.

With iOS 18.2, Apple Intelligence will supports localized English for Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the U.K.

Siri gains ChatGPT integration, enabling it to handle more complex tasks like suggesting recipes or describing images, with the option to type queries instead of using voice commands.

Genmoji lets users create personalized emoji characters from descriptions or photos, and Image Playground allows users to turn descriptions or images into AI-generated, stylized artwork.

iOS 18.2 also enhances Writing Tools, offering more text customization and ChatGPT integration for generating text. For iPhone 16 series users, the new Visual Intelligence feature enables users to learn about objects by pointing their camera at them, providing information about nearby stores, objects, and text.
