Apple launches new Apple Maps on the web beta
Apple has launched Apple Maps on the web in public beta, providing users worldwide with access to Maps directly from their browsers.
This new feature allows users to obtain driving and walking directions, discover places, and access location information such as photos, hours, ratings, and reviews. Users can also perform actions like ordering food directly from the Maps place card and browse curated Guides to find places to eat, shop, and explore in cities around the world. Additional features, including Look Around, are expected to be available in the coming months.
Developers using MapKit JS can link out to Maps on the web, enabling their users to access driving directions, detailed place information, and more.
Currently, Maps on the web is available in English and is compatible with Safari and Chrome on Mac and iPad, as well as Chrome and Edge on Windows PCs. Apple plans to expand support to additional languages, browsers, and platforms over time.
