iOS 18 adds ability to recolor Home Screen app icons
Apple has previewed a new Home Screen customization feature coming with iOS 18, allowing users to tint their Home Screen app icons to any color of their choosing, offering a fresh way to personalize the appearance of their iPhone.
With iOS 18, Apple is introducing an app icon customization sheet that will present users with sliders and tint controls to personalize the appearance of icons. In addition to providing users with controls, iOS will suggest complementary icon tints based on a user’s Home Screen wallpaper, making the appearance more personalized.
Additionally, with Dark Mode activated, app icons will transition to a sleek, dark aesthetic.
In another Home Screen-related update, iOS 18 will liberate users from the confines of standard app placement, allowing them to position apps freely anywhere on the Home Screen. Whether it’s arranging icons around a favorite wallpaper or aligning them for one-handed navigation, iOS 18 will give users the ability to tailor their Home Screen layout to their exact preferences and habits.
