Apple Vision Pro to launch in countries outside the US following WWDC, reports Bloomberg
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is out with a new report, claiming that Apple is preparing to launch its mixed-reality Apple Vision Pro headset outside of the US for the first time after WWDC24 in June.
Citing people with knowledge of the matter, Apple has been holding training sessions in recent days “and has flown hundreds of employees from its international stores” to Cupertino, California, with the sessions lasting as long as four days as the iPhone maker prepares to expand the availability of the device.
Gurman’s report follows after it was claimed that Apple had been inviting employees from France to Cupertino for secret product learning sessions, which were believed to be for the Apple Vision Pro headset.
Apple introduced Apple Vision Pro last year, made from a single piece of three-dimensionally shaped laminated glass with an aluminum alloy frame that contours to the user’s face, the device boasts an array of advanced cameras and sensors. These components collaborate to deliver an immersive mixed-reality experience, enhanced by speakers strategically positioned near the user’s ears to provide Spatial Audio, resulting in lifelike three-dimensional environments.
Currently, Apple Vision Pro is only available in the US. However, reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently claimed that Apple could launch its mixed-reality Apple Vision Pro headset on an international scale prior to WWDC, saying at the time that Apple was adapting algorithms to comply with various countries’ regulations before releasing the device outside of the US, although his now seems unlikely, given that there was no mentioning of Apple Vision Pro at the company’s recent “Let Loose” special event.
