Apple has officially announced it will host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from Monday, June 10 through Thursday, June 14, where the iPhone maker is expected to announce iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, and macOS 15, in addition to the second-generation version of its visionOS software for Apple Vision Pro.
Apple’s week-long WWDC will kick-off with a keynote on Monday, June 10, with Apple expected to show off the next major software updates coming later in the year for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and Apple Vision Pro, with reports suggesting that iOS 18 will introduce significant AI features, marking a pivotal shift for Apple towards AI integration across its platforms.
Notable iOS 18 rumors include an enhanced Siri leveraging large language model technology akin to ChatGPT, AI-driven Apple Music playlist generation, integration of AI into productivity apps like Pages, Keynote, and Numbers for tasks like summarisation and content creation, AI capabilities for Xcode to aid in coding and testing, an upgraded Spotlight Search powered by generative AI, and wellness coaching integrated into Apple Health and Apple Watch.
Additionally, new AI features for the Messages app are anticipated, enabling auto-completion, answering questions, and summarising messages.
For the rest of the week, Apple will host Engineering Sessions for developers to learn how to build the next generation of apps with technical and design-focused videos by Apple engineers, as well as offering 1-on-1 Developer Labs on an appointment basis for technical guidance on Apple technologies.
