Elon Musk has shared that X, formally Twitter, could soon remove the ability to block other users.
In response to a user’s post about blocking and muting accounts, Musk said blocking is going to be “deleted as a feature” in the future, as it “makes no sense.”
Should the plan go ahead, the removal of the block feature would be the latest controversial change to the platform since Musk’s takeover, eliminating a key safety feature that allows users to block comments from unwanted followers.
According to Musk, “Block is going to be deleted as a ‘feature’, except for DMs.”
If the ability to block users was to be removed, X would be in violation of the policies of the App Store and Google Play Store. Potentially, this could lead to X being removed from these platforms.
