Elon Musk hires new Twitter CEO

Elon Musk has announced that he has hired a replacement to takeover the role of Twitter CEO, with the unnamed new starter taking to their role in around six weeks from now.

Musk held a poll on Twitter last year asking users to vote on whether he should step down as the company’s CEO following his turbulent acquisition of the platform in October, in which 57% percent of over 17 million voters voted for Musk to resign.

With a new CEO taking the helm, Musk says he will transition into a new role overseeing product and software at Twitter, with the new CEO managing all other aspects of the company.

Despite stepping down as CEO, Musk remains the company’s owner and will likely continue to play a large part in the company’s decisions moving forward.
