Apple starts mass production of EarPods with USB-C ahead of iPhone 15 launch

Apple has reportedly started mass production of new EarPods with USB-C ahead of the launch of the iPhone 15 in fall, which is said to drop the Lightning connector for USB-C across all four models.

According to known leaker ShrimpApplePro, Apple supplier Foxconn is reportedly manufacturing the new EarPods, which are now in mass production ready for the iPhone’s transition to USB-C.

EarPods are Apple’s wired AirPods alternative. The buds include a built-in remote that lets users adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.

The new EarPods with USB-C will likely be available separately to the iPhone, with the current Lightning models priced at $19.00.
