How to send message effects on iPhone

With message effects, you can use full-screen effects to animate the screen when sending an iMessage on iPhone, iPad, and Mac that fill the recipients message thread with animations including balloons, fireworks, confetti, and more.

Apple offers eight different message effects on iPhone, including Echo that displays multiple echoing message bubbles which fly across the recipient’s screen, Spotlight which blacks out the message thread and highlights only the message you are sending with a stage light effect, Balloons which send colourful animated balloons floating from the bottom of the message thread, Confetti which rains confetti from the top of the screen, Love which adds a large ballon-like heart to the message you are sending, Lasers that adds a special disco-like laser effect, Fireworks which fill the messages thread with a bright firework display, and Celebration that adds shimmering golden effects which takeover the screen.

Each message effect on iPhone includes custom vibrations to bring the animations to life. For example, when sending the Lasers effect, users can feel their device vibrate in the pattern of the on-screen lasers, and with the Fireworks animation, the device vibrates as each firework lights up the screen.
