Apple Music shows explicit lyrics for ‘I Swear’ Minions song from Despicable Me 2

Video sharing platform TikTok has flooded with users sharing screen recordings from Apple Music and Spotify, showing how earlier today, the platforms were showing explicit lyrics for the song I Swear from the animated children’s film Despicable Me 2, which was sung in “Minion-speak” in the movie, a totally made-up language which bares no resemblance to the lyrics shown on streaming services today.

Listeners have been quick to point out that in the first set of lyrics on both platforms, the services have changed the fictional lyrics with the lines “Who plans a kid, legit?” followed by “Pop that pu**y like I need,” which differ greatly from the made-up language used in the movie.

Apple appears to have now pulled the lyrics from view, with Spotify still showing the content to users who search for the song on the platform.

Apple offers time-synced lyrics in Apple Music, showing listeners live lyrics as a song plays. It isn’t exactly clear how or why the explicit lyrics have suddenly appeared on the two services, with either a machine learning fault or somebody with access to the official Minions soundtrack on streaming services purposely updating the lyrics for some unknown reason.
