Apple adds new ‘Like’ animation to tweets using #WWDC22 hashtag – but it isn’t showing for everyone

With Apple’s highly-anticipated WWDC event scheduled to take place in a couple of hours time, Apple has added a “like” animation to tweets that use the #WWDC22 hashtag, showing a special effect that reflects the event’s graphics before turning round and changing into the typical love heart icon when users “like” a tweet.

Unlike previous events where Apple has used the “like” animation to tweets globally, such as the “Peek performance” keynote in March, it appears that the for some reason, the “like” animation for the tweets using the #WWDC22 hashtag are only showing to users in the US at this time.

One easy explanation for this is that Twitter hasn’t fully rolled out the “like” animation to all users, hence why it isn’t showing for everyone right now however, there is always a possibility that the champaign has been set up only to show in select countries and regions, but this seems a little strange for Apple and Twitter to do.
